Halloween 2008

This is how we decorated the house for Halloween this year.  We got 50+ trick-or-treaters this year, which is somewhat above our average.  Click any picture for a larger image.

This closeup over the front door shows the skull lights and the crows.

These decorative crows are amazingly lifelike.  The feathers are real, the head and body is black silk, and the beak is plastic.  Unlike real crows, however, they are not weatherproof.  We put them out at the last minute.

Diane carved this pumpkin.

Brett carved this pumpkin.  It isn't clear in this picture, but it is a flying bat in front of a cathedral window.

In keeping with the Halloween theme, here is our black cat Pee Wee.  First thing each morning, she insists we open the bedroom window so she can go perch outside on the air conditioner platform.  She usually appears jet-black, but in the sunshine you can see shades of brownish-purple in her fur as well.

Thanks for visiting!
